Ehhhh, it could be a topsy turvy debate if you talk to certain people. Some have standards as to what a "kaiju" actually is. Some would say that The Giant Woman is not monster, but just a giant woman lol. But this piece is pretty cool. Im surprised none of them has eaten Mr. Stay Puff though lol.
The same could be said to kaiju being just monsters, not just giant. Traditionally we use the term to mean giant monsters, and the 50 ft woman is considered to be within that genre of movie. Technically the literal word translation is 'strange beasts' and daikaiju is 'large strange beast.'
I'm using a combination of the two to select giant creatures and beings from media. This could have included the xenomorph queen (20 or so feet) and the Jurassic Park T. rex (20 ft) but they're an alien and natural creature (respectfully) so I don't really lump them together with these guys.
Though truth be told, I don't consider the Stay Puft to be a kaiju more than supernatural being in a selected avatar form. I'd consider the Eren Rogue Titan to be kaiju because Titans themselves are pretty strange as far as creatures go (and given their current revealed origins), and the Gargantuans (War of the Gargantuans) are considered kaiju when they are modified from humans. Same could be said for the 50 ft woman (being modified by cosmic radiation).
Hmmm, you do have a very valid point there. I guess, for me, its hard to see people as kaiju for some reason. Yeah and I don't really consider Mr. Stay Puff a kaiju or monster either. I mean, he's just a possessed statue lol.
Looking pretty good. I like that you changed Reptilicus slightly. Having him green too would really just overpower that color in this. Though I am a little perplexed why you didn't go with the sandy auburn like color that the Yongary suit had in the original. I would have thought you would have done that, so as to break up that whole row of green kaijus that is happening there. But....a good shading and highlight will get over that composition layout though, So I am sure you will be able to pull it off
Finding good images of Youngary that weren't of a horrible quality or insanely dark was kind of hard. Event he movie didn't give a good idea of his colors other than a dark greenish color throughout, so yeah bit annoying.
Reptilicus was going to be another issue but I found an image that was pretty clear on his body coloration being a rusty orange color on his scales, which helps break up his body and such.
